A tooth extraction is usually relatively straightforward, and the vast majority can be usually performed quickly while the individual is awake by using local anaesthetic injections to eliminate painful sensations. A local anaesthetic blocks pain.
Types of Extraction
Some teeth are more difficult to remove for several reasons, especially related to the tooth’s position, the shape of the tooth roots and the integrity of the tooth. Extractions are often categorized as “simple / routine” or “surgical”. Simple extractions can usually be performed on teeth that are visible.
Through doing an oral examination Dr. David will be able to determine if an extraction is the best solution and which type of extraction is appropriate for you. Dr. David will always recommend saving a tooth rather than extraction but where necessary will recommend extractions.
Dr. David and the Vard Dental team acknowledge patients concerns and are known for easing and alleviating peoples’ dental fears.
